Summer at New Forest Wildlife Park
Looking for the perfect summer day out in the New Forest? Nestled in the heart of ancient woodland, New Forest Wildlife Park is the ideal family day out in Hampshire for those who love wildlife, adventure and the great outdoors. Home to over 200 incredible animals, the park brings together conservation, education and family fun beneath a beautiful mainly shaded, woodland canopy.
We're proud to be the only place in the UK where you can see four species of otter, who love to play, chatter and splash about, and we're also home to Hampshire's only wolverine, plus Scottish wildcats, bison and so much more. Wander through our walk-through enclosures and get up close to graceful deer and wallabies.
Keeper Talks at New Forest Wildlife Park
This summer, there are more opportunities to see and learn about our incredible animals. Additional Keeper Talks run throughout the day during the summer holidays, giving you a fascinating insight into their species and habits. It's the perfect chance to ask questions, learn something new and see some animals in a whole new light.
Kids' Adventure Playgrounds
When it's time to let off some steam, our children's adventure playgrounds are ready and waiting! Little explorers under 6 will love the sensory sandpit, stepping-stone rope bridges, basket swing and climbing areas, all designed to spark curiosity and imagination. There's also an ice lolly hut in this area.
For the more adventurous aged 6 and over, there's a spider-web climbing frame, basket swing, rope merry-go-round and a giant multi-person rope swing to conquer. With so much on offer, our outdoor play area is the ideal place for kids to burn off energy and have a blast in the fresh New Forest air.
Summer Holiday Activities for Families in the New Forest
Add even more adventure to your day with our summer picture wildlife bingo! For a small additional charge, pick up your bingo card and see if you can spot your way to a prize . A summer holiday activity to keep the whole family involved as you explore.
When you're ready to recharge, head to our café for refreshments, lunch or a sweet treat, or find the perfect spot in the park to enjoy a picnic surrounded by stunning natural woodland. There's no better setting for a family day out in Hampshire this summer.

Go Wild!
Our fantastic adventure playground for over 6's is the ideal place for exploration and fun with so much to do, such as;
- The incredible spiders web; Everyone can enjoy the challenge of climbing the ropes to cross the spiders web bridge, how high will you climb?
- Swinging in the basket swings or with siblings and friends on the long multi person rope swing!
- Getting dizzy going round and round on the rope merry go round!
- Climbing the high ropes into the bird nests!
- Practice your balancing skills climbing the log jumble and rope nets!
Mini Go Wild!
Mini Go wild; For the tiny tots - away from the older boys and girls – there’s Mini Go Wild!
Younger visitors up to six years old can enjoy...
- The sensory sand pit; Sand is a great way to get textures into the hands of children. Our sand pit has buckets and spades to encourage sensory skills, fine motor skills, hand eye coordination and creativity!
- The digger; Children will love digging and moving the sand with our digger, all while improving their hand eye co-ordination!
- Testing their balance on the stepping stone rope bridge!
- Climbing and exploring THREE different climbing areas using a variety of ropes, ladders, tyres and more!
- Swinging in the basket swing or with siblings and friends on the long multi person rope swing!
