Accessibility

At New Forest Wildlife Park, we believe wildlife is for everyone. We are working hard to make sure our park is as enjoyable as possible for all visitors. Please find some information below which may help you plan you visit.

Sensory Map
We have created a sensory map of the park so our visitors are aware of areas where loud noises and smells may be found. We've also highlighted the dark area for our nocturnal animals and the areas where animals roam freely. A sensory map of the park can be downloaded here.

Social Script
It might be helpful for some visitors to know what to expect from their trip. Click here to download our social script prior to your visit.

Disabled and pushchair access

We welcome wheelchair and mobility scooter users, pushchairs and visitors with limited mobility. However, the woodland trails and natural forest environment may pose difficulties for some visitors. Pea shingle is used on many of the paths and there is a small section of the path that has slightly deeper shingle. Please also be aware that there are three large walk through enclosure doors that may be tricky to manoeuvre if you are visiting alone.

Free entry for carers
We offer discounted rates to visitors with disabilities and their carers (one carer per visiting adult or child with disabilities or special educational needs). Proof of disability can include a Blue Badge, Access Card or similar, DWP letter (i.e PIP, DLA), statement of special educational needs from a LEA, or a letter from a medical professional on NHS headed paper stating carer required.

Registered Assistance Dogs

Please note that will welcome both registered assistance and service dogs to the park , however some areas with free roaming animals are restricted.

In order to make your visit enjoyable with us please ensure you have the following:

Proof of training or registration with approved body for the service your dog provides.

Please make sure you dog wears a clear hi-vis jacket or body harness to show our other guests that your dog is at work, and not a pet.

Please have your dog on a short lead, or harness; not an extendable lead.

Please make sure you have up to date and complete worming and vaccination cards available to view on admission; this is for the bio-security and welfare of our animals.

Please ensure you speak to one of our trained staff to make sure you and your dogs’ visit with us is pleasant and stress free- please remember we have both predator and prey species within the park as well as free roaming animals.

We are very sorry but we are unable to allow ESA's or other pet animals onto our site.

Toilets & Baby Changing
We have toilets are located at the entrance to the park and midway through. There are maps around the park to help you locate them

Baby changing facilities are at the entrance.
