Celebrate 'A Whole Lot of Otter Week' at New Forest Wildlife Park – May Half Term 2026
This May half term, New Forest Wildlife Park is going otter-crazy! In celebration of World Otter Day, join us from Saturday 23rd – Sunday 31st May for a week packed with otter-themed activities, talks, and experiences — perfect for families with children of all ages.
Whether you're looking for family days out in the New Forest, half term activities in Hampshire, or simply a love wildlife, our otters are ready to put on a show.

Otter Trail & Quiz Can you find the hidden otter pawprints, crack the secret phrase, and win a prize? Test your otter knowledge with our fun interactive wildlife quiz - a brilliant way to learn about otters while exploring the park.

Otter Experiences On selected days, we'll be offering limited hands-on otter experiences including feeding sessions and hose play. Availability is on the day - ask at the gate when you arrive. A fantastic opportunity for close-up wildlife encounters in Hampshire.
Cabin Activities – Free! Drop into our cabins for otter-themed colouring and puzzles - a great free activity for younger children visiting the park. When: 23rd – 31st May, all day

Extra Otter Talks To mark the occasion, we're running additional keeper talks about otters throughout the day, packed with fascinating otter facts. A highlight for anyone interested in wildlife and otter conservation.
World Otter Day – Wednesday 27th May
On World Otter Day, one of our friendly keepers will be stationed at each otter enclosure to answer your questions and share incredible otter facts.
On this day you will also be able to hear about the #ShareSavvy campaign and how you can take simple steps to support wildlife conservation.
