New Forest Wildlife Park Celebrates May Half Term with ‘Amazing Otters and Where to Find Them’

15th May 2024

New Forest Wildlife Park is diving into a May half term week of otter-tastic fun in celebration of World Otter Day. From 25th May to 2nd June, visitors can enjoy activities designed for all ages, it's the perfect opportunity to learn about these fascinating creatures and support their conservation.

The May Half Term activities promise a week filled with otter-themed excitement. Embark on the Otter Trail to uncover fascinating facts about all 13 otter species, four of which reside within the park. Complete the trail for a special prize! While exploring, keep an eye out for the hidden golden paw print – finding it could win you an otter adoption or family tickets.

Get crafty with otter-themed crafts, including keyring making and pebble painting, and let your little ones transform into their favourite park animal with face painting.

Daily keeper talks offer a chance to learn even more about these amazing creatures and the park's dedication to their conservation. Gain fascinating insights into the world of otters from our knowledgeable keepers during daily feeding time talks.

Over the week the park will be collecting donations for the Himalayan Otter Network and Giant Otter Project, two important organisations working to protect otters in the wild.

Plus meet the park's newest residents, including adorable six-week-old mouflon lambs, whose arrival highlights the park's commitment to conserving this unique wild sheep species. Don't miss the chance to observe the playful antics of the five-month-old giant otter cubs, or learn about the conservation efforts surrounding the park's newest additions, the Scottish wildcats.
