Reopening Safety Measures
Reopening safety measures
We have been following the latest government guidance to introduce a number of measures at the zoo to ensure a safe and enjoyable day for all of our visitors.
These new measures include:
Helping our visitors practice social distancing.
On entering the zoo you will see a clear one-way system has been designed to guide you around the zoo. We ask everyone to follow the Government's latest social distancing guidelines and maintain the safe 2-metre distance from one another.
Hand washing stations around the zoo.
At frequent stops around the zoo our handwashing facilities will make it easy for our visitors to regularly wash their hands.
Keeper talks are currently suspended.
In order to avoid large crowds from forming we have suspended our daily schedule of keeper talks. However, our friendly keepers are always on hand to chat and answer your questions around the zoo.
Tropical Butterfly House Update:
In light of the current situation (Covid-19 Coronavirus) as a preventative measure based on the confined area and humid environment we have regrettably made the decision to not open our Tropical Butterfly House for the 2020 season.
Takeaway food and drinks at the zoo café.
We are pleased to be able to offer our visitors a variety of food and drink from our onsite café, operating on a new takeaway basis to be enjoyed at our outdoor picnic areas around the zoo.
It is preferable for our members and visitors to book their tickets online prior to visiting the zoo. Where this is not possible we would prefer contactless payment for entry and within the zoo in order to reduce the amount of cash changing hands
Play areas remain closed at the moment but will reopen July 4th in line with Government guidelines .
